RETURNS & REFUNDS POLICY

The Hills Hoist Vintage

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING

The Hills Hoist Vintage specialises in pre-loved and true vintage pieces. These items are not new and may show signs of wear consistent with age and use. We aim to describe and photograph all items accurately and disclose any notable flaws.

Because of the nature of vintage clothing, we encourage customers to read descriptions carefully and check measurements before purchasing.


CHANGE OF MIND

We do not offer refunds for change of mind, including but not limited to:

  • incorrect sizing or fit

  • deciding you no longer want the item

  • colour or fabric appearing different on your screen

  • delays in delivery

This is standard practice for vintage and one-of-a-kind goods.


FAULTY OR MISDESCRIBED ITEMS (AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW)

You are entitled to a remedy under Australian Consumer Law if an item:

  • has a major fault

  • is significantly different from the description or images

  • is not fit for purpose and this was clearly stated prior to purchase

Normal wear, minor imperfections, or signs of age clearly disclosed in the listing are not considered faults.

If an item is deemed faulty or misdescribed, we will offer one of the following as required under law:

  • a refund

  • a store credit

  • a replacement (where available)


HOW TO REQUEST A RETURN

To request a return, please contact us within 3 days of delivery at:

Include:

  • your order number

  • clear photos of the issue

  • a brief description of the problem

Items returned without prior approval will not be accepted.


RETURN CONDITIONS

Approved returns must:

  • be sent back within 7 days of approval

  • be in the same condition as received

  • not have been worn, altered, washed, or damaged

We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not meet these conditions.


RETURN SHIPPING

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is deemed faulty or misdescribed.

  • We recommend using tracked postage, as we are not responsible for items lost in return transit.


SALE ITEMS

Items marked SALE or DISCOUNTED are final sale and not eligible for refund or exchange, unless required by Australian Consumer Law.


INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

International orders are subject to the same policy. Customs duties, taxes and return shipping costs are not refundable.


FINAL NOTE

Vintage clothing is about character, history and individuality. Small imperfections are part of that story. We’re always happy to answer questions before purchase — if you need extra measurements or details, just ask.
